What is Omuti?
Welcome to Omuti, a community development partnership in rural Uganda. Omuti means “tree” in Lusoga, the local language in the village of Kiwungu. The village is home to around 2,000 people and part of the larger Kamuli District in south-central Uganda. The average age in Uganda is 15 years and the average daily wage is around 2 US dollars. Kiwungu is Pastor David Balabyekubo’s home and where he started the work of restoration and health for his community. The work of Omuti is focused on holistic life change in the areas of spiritual, emotional, physical, intellectual, and economic development. Through local and global partnership, we aim to educate and empower the incredible community of Kiwungu into the future.
